How to replace a failed drive in a RAID 5 array:

Note: This procedure only applies when I/O occurs from the time the failed disk was removed to the time

the new disk was inserted.

Physically remove the failed hard drive from the system. The log file pop-up will also be displayed

indicating the disk removal and the array in critical state.

After the rescan and the pop-up windows are cleared RAIDConsole will show the array in Critical state

and the removed disk drive will no longer be displayed in the disk list.
